Harcourt Brain Center

Payment Information

Harcourt Brain Center believes in the value of personalized care for you and your family toward the goal of achieving total health and wellness. Therefore, we have created a pricing structure that is flexible enough to allow you to get the care you need, no matter what your budget! Call our office at 717-483-8734 or email info@harcourtbraincenter.com, and one of our friendly staff will be happy to answer all your questions!

Flexible Payment Options

Many of our patients choose to pay directly for their visits, especially as they discover that our care is actually extremely cost-effective and affordable. For these patients, it is often cheaper and more effective than alternative pain treatments, such as pain medications or surgery. We will help you with finding out which treatments for which your insurance company will reimburse you. All of your options will be laid out at your report of findings (second visit) so you can make the decision that is right for you!

Insurance

Harcourt Brain Center has contracted with a third party insurance billing company that will review your benefits and be able to tell you exactly what your insurance plan provides. Since there are so many plans and coverage varies widely, we are happy to provide this service at no additional cost to you. Please see Insurance/Fees section below for more info.

No Insurance

For patients who have little or no insurance coverage, flexible payment programs can be arranged. We work with several companies, including Care Credit & Cherry that provides very affordable payment plans that will allow you to pay over time. Our patients love this option! This is a great way for you to receive the care you need.

About Our Fees

Our fee schedule at Harcourt Brain Center is well researched and based on current market practices. It is important to us that you understand exactly what goes into making those decisions. Your fee is based on the time the doctor spends with you during your visit, the complexity of your medical condition, and any treatment we provide. However, proper attention to your care also requires that the doctors, and’or members of my staff spend additional time beyond which we spend with you in the office. This time is included in your initial fee and may be used to:

  1. Create or maintain your permanent electronic medical record.
  2. Review, interpret, and document all lab test results and communicate those results to you.
  3. Review current x-ray or scan reports, compare them with reports of previous scans, and when the studies are abnormal, consult with the radiologist or other specialists.
  4. Consult via phone about your case with referring or consulting physicians and other healthcare providers.
  5. Prepare referral forms to additional specialists as needed.
  6. Conduct medical research relevant to your case.
  7. Draft letters of necessity and prior authorization forms to obtain medical services that you need.
  8. Review records from other doctors and communicate with them regarding your care.

All these activities add to our cost of doing business. Still, our staff is committed to providing you with the best possible care at the lowest cost.

Insurance

During the last few years of medical practice, we have all watched insurance reimbursements remain stagnant or in many cases decrease. This process has forced contracted physicians to see more patients and spend less time with each individual, which has lead to dissatisfied patients and doctors (Santa Barbara Independent Article). Due to this, the doctors at Harcourt Brain Center chose to sever direct contracts with insurance companies.

This has allowed the doctors to spend more focused time with each patient and provide them with the care they deserve.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover debit & credit cards, along with participating Health Savings Account Cards.
